First international flight departs from Sialkot's brand new airport
We are very happy to report that the Sialkot International Airport (SIAL) which was recently completed (and covered on this site just a few weeks ago) is now handling international traffic. The first outbound international flight for Kuwait left Sialkot yesterday, a Pakistan International Airlines 737 with 102 passengers onboard. First Int’l flight leaves for Kuwait from Sialkot airport
SIALKOT: The first Kuwait-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Sialkot, left on Friday, with 102 passengers on-board. Addressing a ceremony held at the Sialkot International Airport (SIA), PIA Sales Senior Vice President Salahuddin disclosed that the national airline would operate weekly on Friday between Sialkot and Kuwait. He said the PIA was considering expanding its network to other international destinations in near future.
