Before I get any further, I just have to say I love the way this Irani journalist spells Tehmina Daultana’s name – Tahmineh Doulataneh – makes it sound almost poetic. But what else can you expect from the land of Haafez and Saadi? But we digress. The scoop is that Iran’s minister for Science, Research and Technology met with our own S&T Minister and discussed collaboration in the area of Information Technology, Biotechnology, Energy and Health. It’s good to see the new coalition government active and in the middle of things, furthering the progress made on the S&T front by the previous government. Iran, Pakistan discuss tech co-op

Iranian and Pakistani ministers have exchanged views on boosting cooperation in various scientific and technological fields.

Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mohammad-Mahdi Zahedi, and his Pakistani counterpart, Tahmineh Doulataneh, met on the sidelines of the 13th meeting of the OIC Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The official said Iran has the potential to transfer technical know-how to Muslim states in many advanced fields including bio-technology, energy, health and medical equipment as well as information technology.
