Asian Development Bank to invest $810M in Pakistan's power infrastructure
There was a two line news item in the Daily DAWN today that is of much consequence to the tech industry in Pakistan. The Asian Development Bank has decided to extend Pakistan an $810M facility to invest in the power distribution infrastructure in the country. This marks a continuation of the infrastructure investments being extended by various international financial institutions to Pakistan. Earlier, the World Bank had announced a $1.4BN facility for Pakistan’s infrastructure, including construction of dams. More after the break.

ISLAMABAD, July 9 (APP): Asian Development Bank proposes to provide $810 million loan to Pakistan by September for power projects. The funds will enable transmission systems of the power distribution companies to be upgraded all over the country. (Posted @ 22:02 PST)
