If this browser was really bad..then how come majority of the people are not having any problems like yourz??….My colleagues are using it but non of us ALLAH KA SHUKAR HAI, are not having any such problems!!…..I just downloaded it…i had the .NET framework thats why i didnt need to install it neither it asked me to do so…

Btw, whosoever wrote this article really seems to be jealous!. One can really make it out coz the way this person has written under the logo of Xtravo!… ( X- Box- type Logo ).

Am not here to fight, but just to let all the users know that there are alot of people who are not just having problems like you. But also, people like me, who are using it and are having no such problems like downloading or like what u have mentioned!…

I think, we should as a nation really appreciate this 19 yr old boy, who has really made an effort of making something out of the WINDOW!… If we cant do any such thing ourselves, then we are NO ONE to under estimate or to pinpoint on others.

Your browser is working excellent on my PC and my laptops..Not one, but i have two laptops of Apple and HP..and guess what. I am a 35yr old business man. I have downloaded your browser on my PC and laptops, why? coz i found out that ur browser has the facility of opening all the sites within 10seconds. I was a user of Firefox but i really wasnt happy using it. But since ur browser is with me, my world has got just better! Its soo great!

I downloaded the browser and its working great on my Vista 32bit SP1. I must say congratulations to Imran and the team responsible for this achievement. I will run a review of the browser soon so that people would know more about the talent we have in Pakistan.

I think Sheikh did a good job and here we are damn proud for the effort.

Besides nowhere from the article did i get the vibe that the author is jealous or maligning Imran. Quite the contrary. Learn to get over yourselves and stop being so overly sensitive. ive downloaded here in the uk and its working great, faster than IE…quite swish looking…only niggle is when u open up a new tab you get confused exactly what tab it takes you to…other than i think its excellent software from a young kid irrespective of his nationality..

Pretty cool browser. Xtravo Explorer is a really cool browser and i read about it in softpedia.com. Looks like UCLA and Ivy Colleges going to Support this sys.

so if things are going like this then I want to tell I am from University of Houston and studying in the second year.

Our Science group is supporting Xtravo, not only this we have made it an official product to study coding of websites and all.

though i aint from Ivy college but We Believe in you Sheikh because in today’s world, we need a Good Change rather than same old browsers.

I just got time to read this blog and saw that my dear friend is telling me that this browser doesnt works on MAC, OS. I fear my friend that why dont you know that one can install the software of Vista in Laptop, and this is what i have done!.

No one is defending Sheikh, its just that our dear friend Techlahore has made an effort of letting people know the wrong side of the browser. He should also explain the users that the error application only pops up if you dont have the required feature of .NET Framework.

We here should appreciate and yes, should criticize only if its needed!.

Just to check out, i have downloaded the browser and using it, i think it is very good job done for a beta browser and for a 19 year old. Keep good work up you can take to better level……..
and logo is way differnet then x-box logo
writing a blog on wordpress is way simple dude…. even from editing a logo that your blog doesnot have.

Had lots of trouble getting it to run. When it did, I was underwhelmed. I guess it’s ok as a hobbyist application, but there is nothing new or innovative about it and I noticed no difference in page loading speeds whatsoever. If the IE engine is being used, how can this browser be faster? Doesn’t make sense at all…

Whatsnew, i guess you guy do not know much about technology. There are certain things that cane make it fast.

Kept asking me to launch a debugger. Not what you would like to see. Hopefully Imran will improve this soon, since this wasn’t the final release.

In my opinion, the browser is only a skin for Internet Explorer. .NET Framework already ships with web browser control that one can integrate in the applications to create a full fledged browsers. Two facts point to Xtravo being a skin:

i) the requirement of .NET Framework
ii) The internet explorer engine which is evident when you check out the properties.

Other than that, image grabbing is not really a big issue. And, 10 second loading thing depends on many factors, including the browser of course. But if Xtravo is using IE engine, then rendering is totally IE based as well. So, how is the 10 second claim logical?

That it is developed by a 19 year old is of course a good thing for him and Pakistan. But not because Pakistan has managed to develop a NEW BROWSER. Xtravo is NOT A NEW BROWSER. A new browser means a new engine, NOT A SKIN OVER AN EXISTING ENGINE.

Anyhow, it is a good effort and it is good for Pakistan in the sense that people are taking interest in this area. I wish Imran all the success in his endeavors and please do not take my criticism in the wrong way. My constructive criticism is only meant to point out the obvious as well as encourage Imran to create a new rendering engine.

I agree with Aamir and it is quite evident from the posts of certain 35 yr olds etc etc that you are actually 19 or did some1 say 12. I do not see Techlahore trying to malign the product in any way……he asks “Sheikh” to help him out in trying to work it, now is that negative. People will only cover what they see and experience, not make up a good blog post just to praise the product just because it is from Pakistan and was the genius of a 19yr old.

If it really is Sheikhs work (i hope it is) then he does need to polish it up. The only way that happens is that people criticise him and he takes it positively. If I were to get the error Techlahore got how am I suppose to know its a .NET framework issue until unless the application doesn’t tell me or better still takes me to the download page. If it did not work on .NET 3.5 which is quite high a requirement, does it work on 4? according to the link posted by Humza its 2.0…..hmmmm…..

A nice effort but it is not an “actual browser”. He is using InternetExplorer_Server component as the core broswer with His own feature tabs and windows. The actual HTML processor is of Internet Explorer.

The thing i do want to comment on is the similarity of insanity in comments on both the blogs.

Ok its an achievement that the guy has made a browser at the age of 19 years, but for all the repeated comments and that too non stop some body has got a lot of time on his hands to continously comment.

My guess is some good close friends have decided to just keep defending him (which is not a bad thing if you do with your original IDs) no matter what. specially the comments like apple considering to buy it now why would apple invest in some thing which was built on .net technology which is a completely microsoft owned thing?? please explain this to me

well i just downloaded the browser and it really is great. google chrome is faster than both iexplorer and firefox.but guess what this thing is better than chrome. fresh looking, faster and easy to use. he might have used the iexplorer engine but the tweaks done here are great. any negative remarks i would say are not necessary cuz it is a gr8 product.good work man.

i tell you that in xtravo explorer he not know that how to add a .mdb file to its browser’s directory to save or retrieve the search engines..in above link you also have a .mdb file in this directory (bin\Debug\Data\ieclone.mdb) just coby the Folder named *Data* in Xtravoexplorer.exe directory and check the Xtravo Explorer i think now it works like same as ie7clone(as full version not a beta)

Same problems in Xtravo and ie7clone are they dont have thier own download interface and the image extractor is not working…………..

Xtravo Explorer is a great browser, no matter from where it is builded or copied source code.

Remember all these things are to be Open Source which Xtravo used it to build a browser.

Now if anyone else build a browser will not be such a big thing since Xtravo Explorer is the First Pakistani Browser which is now Partnered with Google Inc and SonicZooms.

I find it the fastest of all. Keeping in mind that the interface is very minimalistic and powerful. Xtravo Explorer v2.8 is very good. MUST DOWNLOAD.

I heard that Xtravo Traveler is being build which is actually the USB version(I Guess) along with Xtravo Touch Screen. The day Windows 7 is being released Microsoft as made sure that Xtravo Touch should Release on that day.

Xtravo Explorer 3 is very good, I saw its updates on Facebook Page and it sounds to be very comprehensive.

Keeping in mind that Xtravo is a one boy’s work, its Fabulous the things he is doing. Remember the Google Chrome, Firefox & IE is build by 800 people where as Xtravo Explorer used limited resources and made a browser for our needs and perfectly working is a Achievement.

Jawoco. Com should go Public in NYSE if formed incorporation since it can threat to Google & Firefox.

The error shown at top of this blog is due to a virus on the system. The virus is called Brontok. I have been working in this .NET framework for the last 2 years and have been trapped by the virus in my early days. The only solution that is possible once the virus gets activated is to reinstall the Operating System. This is because the virus does not let the .NET framework initialize.

Secondly, I would like to give a suggestion. If Imran allows some Pakistani programmers to contribute in the development of Xtravo, we can build plug-ins for it like Firefox. In this ways, we can give updates for it from time to time. And for this task, I present myself volunterily. If my idea is valid, please contact me at 0312-7027779.

I had the same problem, but turns out this browser needs .net framework, which the developer didn’t bothered mentioning on his site. And I don’t think anyone would switch to it when there are browsers like firefox and opera. And firefox is not easy to beat with all those extensions. Anyway seems like this is an amended version of IE, you’d know that when you go into internet options or when a pop-up comes on.

But I’d say good effort, maybe those who want to stick to IE, could make something out of it.

I agree to you but this browser has different rivals like Avant Browser, World Browser and Maxthon. Seeing does developed by companies and then comparing with Xtravo Explorer and seeing the fact that is developed by a 19 year old Chap, I must say “I am Really Impressed.”

By the way, people Imran has released xtravo explorer 2.8.6 for Windows XP Special people who do not have .NET Framework 2. I installed the version first but it did not worked but then I installed the Windows XP special one and it worked Perfectly fine.

Listen up guys. There’s nothing extraordinary about that browser. It’s been designed in Visual Studio 2008 using .NET Framework 2.0. He has just dragged a Browser control onto a .NET form and written a few lines to get it ready which I think any one among you can do with a little practice. He has not built it from scratch like Opera or IE. Besides there are a lot of bugs in his project and many of those have already been discovered. Assembly doesn’t execute on Windows 7 because it thorws a CLR BadImageFileException. The icons and graphics are not some classy work as well. We must be optimistic but there must be some limit to self boasting. Take Care.

I downloaded Xtravo, tried it and I’m now a regular user. It seems to be faster, and definitely consumes less space than the other monster browsers. Very impressive work for a 19 y.o.! I also enjoys his Jawoco search engine.
