I believe most sites out there are scams but there are some that are reliable. I'm registered on three reliable sites and its a pretty steady income. You're not really risking anything so I'd definitely give it a go.

Searching for outsourcing contact in my native Pak. I somehow landed on your blog. I spent quite sometime reading your blog and pleased with your knowledge. I have been in IT business for a decade and would like to network with someone in Pakistan for some ideas I am working on. Is it possible to stay in touch with you through linkedin etc?

Keep up the good work and be positive about the homeland!

You are right. VC will remain dead for some time but lets narrow it down to our situation here in Pakistan.

Prior to 2004 and even prior to that in the Jurassic times of the .com bubble the investor here never realized the value of intangible.

Angle investors here are more tuned to buyying cotton, apartments, scrap, potato crop anything that is tangible.

So where does that leave the average joe, the bright programmer hidden in some squalid ally way in Pakistan?

My point being if the VC is dead as you describe it are there any chances of it ever getting back up and that too to a level where it engages with local .com supply.
