TechLahore is competing in the Pakistan Blog Awards

We’re competing in the Pakistan Blog Awards and would appreciate your support. Here is why we think TechLahore deserves recognition:

TechLahore is a blog focused on the technology industry in Pakistan, but it often also covers international technology development relevant to the Pakistani context. We sometimes comment on wider economic, social or international relations issues, especially if they impact Pakistani society and industry. TechLahore is known for its irreverent commentary and patriotic voice. The Blog is run anonymously by a serial entrepreneur who divides his time between the US and Pakistan.

The depth of technology and industry commentary available at TechLahore is quite unique. For example, the following serial post commenting on the “death” of the VC industry provides a good example:

TechLahore’s style of writing goes to great lengths to wrap important content – be it corporate governance or something as drab as HR policy – with eclectic, colourful local symbology to preserve that sense of Pakistani-ness. For example, the post below explains IT HR policies in the context of Rickshaw poetry:

And finally, the voice used at TechLahore is often very personal. While the blog is anonymous, the blogger is not afraid to share his experiences and make his readers a part of his story. For example, in the following post, TechLahore takes readers on a journey of what it was like to grow up in Lahore and the strength his childhood experiences have given him – a reservoir that he can tap in times of adversity:

The combination of deep professional insight with a very personal, engaging voice and the local interest many of TechLahore’s posts evoke, stands uniquely in the Pakistani blogosphere. We believe the blog deserves recognition for these qualities.
